Roger Brown Study Collection public lectures
From 2010 to 2025, I worked part time at the Roger Brown Study Collection (RBSC), a house museum and special collection of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In 2020, I was promoted to Collection Manager, and I managed the space until it was sold to the Kohler Foundation in 2024. In my time there, I regularly lectured on the histories of Roger Brown, George Veronda, the Chicago Imagists, and the diverse artists the collection held. Two lectures from this era are preserved online. These lectures are not related to my art practice, but embody my interest in art history, historic preservation, Chicago art, and the Chicago Imagists.
The RBSC was a proud member of the Historic Artist Homes and Studios program, a consortium of former artist homes and studios in the National Trust for Historic Presevation. in 2021, I participated in their Virtual Road Trip series:
In 2021, I participated in a panel discussion on the work of Chicago artist Joseph Yoakum, focusing on his works in the Roger Brown Study Collection, his impact on the work of Roger Brown other artists in our collection, and his aesthetic similarities to the drawings of Barbara Rossi.
